End of Summer

weather is finally cooling down. I love the cool Fall weather! Great time to go on a hike! And it's so beautiful! This is going to be one busy month!

Gage is in Kindergarten. He's lovin it! Jack starts Preschool on the 8th. I'm hoping this will teach him a little structure. That kid is freekin cute but man he's crazy! The kids just finished swim lessons @ Kearns fitness center. This was Jack's first. I was very impressed with Gage's teacher! She was the best we have had so far! I think they really learned a lot! But Jack's teacher may have ruined him for life. The first week he was doin OK. He wasn't doing everything the teacher was asking him to and just being a 3 year old but he would stay in the water and seemed to be having fun. Well then it just got worse and worse every class. He kept saying he was scared and I didn't know why untill there were only 4 more lessons left. I saw the teacher dunk him under water... The next calss he cried the whole time in the water so I let him get out half way through the class. The next time he wouldn't even get in and the last class I didn't even bother taking him. I asked the teacher if she wouldn't dunk him cause he is scared and she told me she has done that in the past because kids wouldn't listen to her and it has worked. I can garantee the person in charge will be hearing from me! I am not happy! She never should have dunked him! And it wasn't just once I am sure. Poor guy!

Gage has glasses now. He is very far sighted in both eyes. Unlike Jack has bad vision in one eye and very bad in the other causing his lazy eye and the reason we noticed it early. but the Dr said we still caught Gage's pretty early compared to most kids so they should improve with treatment (glasses) even though his vision is so bad now he may not have to have glasses as an adult. So we are happy about that! And he doesn't mind having them. I think he might even like them. :) He sure does look cute in them! He has already shown improvment @ school too. He doesn't get nearly as discouraged as he used to. No wonder he was getting frustrated @ preschool. He couldn't see! Jack is wearing a patch for 1 hour a day. His brain is trying to see everything out of the better eye which is causing the worse eye to just stop working if we don't do something about it now. So we have to force it to work. Hoping we don't have to increase the time he has to wear the patch (we will find out in January) and an hour a day will work.

We got a box turtle. He doesn't really hava a name, it's just turtle. :) The kids love him! MJ can say "turtle" really well! She just screams and gats all excited when we let him out. Jackson is unsure about him. He likes watching him but won't touch him with more than 1 finger. Turtle sure is a hit though. He never bites or anything. I never new I would love having a turtle for a pet like I do! He has beautiful orange eye! We plan to make him a home outside next summer.

We have a season pass to the zoo so we have been this year many times. It's Jack's favorite place! We even had his birthday there. He LOVES the elephants!

Gage has been busy this summer. He was in Tball, he really loved it and made some great friends! He graduated Preschool. Jack will have the same teacher so we are glad we still get to see Ms. Hollie. She's really great and helped Gage a lot!
